Folk Festival
Tucked away in the heart of Devon’s coastline, Sidmouth transforms once a year from a tranquil seaside town into a vibrant cauldron of folk festivities. Just a short 18 minuet drive and you will find yourself in the coastal town of Sidmouth in Southwest England where Folk Festival arises. In the first week of August every year since 1955, the Folk Festival has been attracting tens of thousands of visitors to over 700 diverse events. Sidmouth Folk Festival offers a wide range of activities including major folk concerts, pub sessions, workshops and masterclasses, social dances and dance displays, family entertainment and many children’s musical and craft activities. The festival includes a programme of dance displays with many morris, sword and other traditional dance teams performing throughout the week. The perfect seaside get-a-way for folk lovers.
International Blues and Jazz Festival
Alongside the Folk Festival, Sidmouth international jazz and blues festival takes place over the week of May Bank holiday weekend in the Blackmore Gardens. The international festival brings a range of Jazz, swing, blues, roots, soul, gospel, funk Latin and Cuban to the wonderful locals and travellers of Sidmouth. During the festival you can expect 5 days of exceptional live music with a stellar line-up of world-class internationally acclaimed artists. Three days of incredible live music performances on our dedicated outdoor performance stage, a wonderful free educational programme of workshops, masterclasses and performances. Tickets range from a £20 daytime ticket (access to daytime music over the three days) to a £495 ticket (VIP access to all five days of the festival).
